According to common professional opinions there are 3 main possible causes of adult skin breakouts. This information applies more particularly to adults although also applies to individuals of any age.
Possible Cause #1 – Hormones
A small change in the aging process of an individual could result in the hormones becoming over active. The end result is the production of more oil than what is required by the skin. Experts have still not been able to find out exactly why this type of hormonal changes occurs and why this causes the oil glands to flood the skin with excessive oil.
Possible Cause #2 – Stress
Stress is another major cause for the appearance of blemishes to appear on your face and body. Of course in this fast-paced modern world stress is part and parcel of life. When you’re under stress the body secretes a hormone called Cortisol, which in turn triggers the release of hormones. Over-activation of the hormones may lead to breakouts to appear on your skin.
A good way to de-stress is to exercise regularly; indulge in a hobby during your free time; go on a vacation or do anything else that will help you to unwind and relax.
Possible Cause #3 – Beauty Products
When it comes to creams, lotions and other grooming products, do consider your skin type. Foundation products, creams and lotions when applied to the skin can block the pores and hinder your skins natural cleansing process. Ordinary soap and water will struggle to remove a build up of make up which can clog pores and lead to skin irritations if not cleaned well. This is especially so if you have oily skin.
If your skin is oily or prone to blemishes, always chose make up products that are oil free. Also follow a skincare routine which includes cleansing and exfoliating with the appropriate products.
